How is rekeying different from changing locks?
Rekeying reuses your existing hardware and changes the internal pins. Changing locks replaces the hardware entirely. Rekeying is faster and cheaper when the locks are in good shape.
Can all my locks be keyed to the same key?
Usually yes if they share a keyway. Where a brand differs we can swap that one cylinder cheaply so the whole house still runs on one key.
Is rekeying simpler than replacing the locks?
In most cases yes. The existing hardware stays on the door and only the internal pins change, so it is usually the lighter option for a home with a handful of matching locks. Call for details on your specific doors.
Do you rekey smart locks?
Yes — most smart locks contain a standard rekeyable cylinder for the mechanical override, and we can reset codes at the same time.
