Security gateway module and all-keys-lost

Many 2018+ Jeep and other Stellantis vehicles are equipped with a secure gateway module that restricts direct OBD-II access to the immobilizer, which can make all-keys-lost key programming more involved than on older models. A bypass tool or specific access procedure is typically required alongside standard key programming equipment to complete the job.

Fobik key wear and insert blade replacement

Fobik keys used on Grand Cherokee and Cherokee combine a plastic remote housing with a small removable insert blade, and that insert is a common failure point that snaps or wears out independent of the remote electronics. In many cases only the blade insert needs replacing rather than the entire fob.

Wrangler's separate mechanical key and remote

Many Wrangler model years use a mechanical key for the doors and ignition that is functionally separate from the keyless entry remote, so a lost key and a non-working remote are not always the same repair. Confirming whether the issue is the physical key, the remote battery, or the immobilizer transponder narrows down the correct fix quickly.
